Learning Objectives

During this course, the learner will:

  • Learn to what it means to become proactive and produce tangible results in their roles by becoming proactive.
  • Develop the habit of beginning any task with a clear end in mind by creating their own personal life mission statement which will become a new path forward for all their accomplishments.
  • Learn how to manage in doing what is worth in ways that keeps him focused on his key roles, goals, and resources.
  • Learn to operate from a “Win-Win” perspective resulting in more mutual satisfaction. These same skills can be applied in business / projects to improve relationships with customers / clients, suppliers, and colleagues at all levels.
  • Learn that empathy is the key to understanding. By seeking first to understand, Empathetic communications opens the door to better solutions and mutually beneficial alternatives in human interactions.
  • Learn to value different opinions and viewpoints of others- resulting in higher quality decisions, greater team / organizational togetherness, and reduced rivalry.
  • Learn to “Sharpen the Saw” regularly, maintaining balance and perspective. On a personal level engaging participants in a complete wellness and fitness program on four key dimensions i.e., Physical, Mental, Spiritual & Social dimensions of my life.

Course Coverage

1. Habit 1 - Be proactive

(Duration: 70 minutes)

  • How Effective people take responsibility for their own actions and surge ahead both personally & professionally.
  • What are circles of Influence & Concern and how to leverage the circle of influence for all success?
  • Who are reactive and proactive people and how to become more proactive to keep succeeding?
  • What is “Response – ability” and how to choose the right response in any given situation to stay ahead of others?
  • How to become a Transition figure.

2. Habit 2 – Begin with an End in Mind

(Duration: 70 minutes)

  • What is meant by Mental Creation Precedes Physical Creation?
  • How to realize that Begin with an end in mind applies to all areas of life.
  • Write their own eight pages - personal mission statement during the program and realize how that can become their Guidepost for all successes.

3. Habit 3 – Put First things First

(Duration: 70 minutes)

  • The difference between “Important” and “Urgent”.
  • Learn how to draw the time management matrix and live his life through quadrant 2 – the productive quadrant of the matrix.
  • Identify that one thing in one’s own personal/professional life that would make a tremendous difference and make life unstoppable, surging ahead all the time.

4. Habit 4 - Think Win-Win

(Duration: 70 minutes)

  • The concept of Emotional bank accounts and realizes his/her status of deposits and withdrawals.
  • Get the deeper sense of the six paradigms of Human interactions.
  • Carry out the inside-out descripting of “Win-Win” frame of mind that seeks mutual benefit in all human interactions.

5. Habit 5 - Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood

(Duration: 70 minutes)

  • First to understand the other person’s perspective, and then help them to understand our perspective.
  • Effective people focus first on listening to understand and not on listening to respond.
  • The five levels of listening.
  • To interact and influence effectively one must first understand i.e., Diagnosis must precede prescriptions.

6. Habit 6 – Synergize

(Duration: 70 minutes)

  • Seeing and appreciating differences in a relationship as a source of information and creativity for building synergy.
  • How others’ points of view can increase the effectiveness of an interaction as well togetherness.
  • What is true interdependency?

7. Habit 7 - Sharpen the Saw

(Duration: 60 minutes)

  • What is sharpening the saw?
  • Why sharpen the saw at all?
  • The four dimensions of renewal.
