Learning Objectives

At the end of the entire course, participants will be able to:

  • Get an idea on how to use the iTurmeric platform
  • Basic level, Hands-on approach to the product's features and capabilities shall be provided
  • Design of an API & Orchestration of business logic via the iTurmeric Platform

Course Coverage

1. Introducing iTurmeric Platform:

This session focuses upon understanding what iTurmeric Platform is and the problems it can help solve. Also a wide range of topics be discussed such as getting familiar with the various tiers and components of iTurmeric Platform, iTurmeric Features and key capabilities compared to the existing tools that are available in the market. An elaborate case study shall be brought in view on iTurmeric usage as an integration layer in heterogeneous ecosystems.

2. Structuring Turmeric Applications & Template Workbench:

Introduction of iTurmeric Studio, its features and its key capabilities shall be seen. And a Communication Messaging Templates applicable in Turmeric for exchange of data creation shall be done .A messaging template shall be Created and defined that is in the format agnostic. A basic understanding of the template building blocks and attributes for its creation shall be discussed .Also highlighting reusability of the custom templates within the template, importing the already defined template artefacts in the Studio. And an extraction of the templates in the artefacts for its usage for a clear understanding shall be touched upon.

3. API Designer & Flow designer:

This session covers a range of topics such as system endpoint creation and configuration (HTTP). Topics on API basics such as CRUD operation definition such as GET, POST shall be touched upon. Also template mapping within an API, creating an API Proxy shall be seen. Basic configuration required for a flow configuration such as flow properties , Flow Palette , Task Settings and also options such as Saving , Compiling , Publishing a flow shall also be briefly discussed. We shall also configure flow with a POST API flow. Perform data persistence and generate an API response on an actual scenario of Account Creation.

4. API Driven Flows (Implementation of an API)

Session focuses exclusively on a GET API based flow creation to get multiple sets of data from an existing table. Basic requirements such as system endpoint Creation and Configuration (Oracle) and how do a basic assign function shall also be discussed.

5. Message Driven Flows:

The Main focus in this session shall be on message based flow. In this flow a XML message shall be persisted and a message must be generated into a queue. Here an Invoke REST component is used to invoke an external API and a sub flow to handle errors and use an Inward Credit. Kafka and SMTP Component configuration shall also be touched upon in this session.

6. Error Handling, Exception Management:

The main aspect here is to handle errors as these ties in with the previous session where a flow was created. In this session a brief discussion and configuration on handling of various errors using error handlers for different types of errors and sending them into a queue in Active MQ and persisted into a table. Usage of assign Methods and Math functions shall be discussed.
